PM Abbasi rules out clash between institutions

Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said on Saturday that neither was there a tussle between state institutions, not would there be one.

The premier also added that the government was taking effective steps to root out terrorism from Balochistan and the rest of the country.

Chairing a meeting in Quetta attended by Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal, federal minister Qadir Baloch, the governor and the CM of Balochistan and the Southern Command commander, Abbasi said there was no other establishment other than the government.

“There is no clash between institutions and these misconceptions only spread through media,” he added.

The PM said the government was determined to rid the country of the scourge of terrorism.

Balochistan Chief Secretary Aurangzeb Haq briefed the PM on the law and order situation in the province.

Fifteen people, mostly military men, were martyred and dozens wounded in a terrorist attack targeting an army truck in a high-security neighbourhood of Quetta on August 12.

Later while talking to reporters, the PM said the projects in announced by deposed premier Nawaz Sharif would be completed.

He added that the water shortage crisis in Balochistan would be overcome and tube wells would be run using solar power.

“Balochistan is among our top priorities,” he added.

Abbasi said gas plants would be set up in every district headquarters of the province.

Besides, he maintained, a health card scheme would be introduced in every district of Balochistan.

Speaking on political issues, the PM hoped that Pakistan People’s Party Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari would participate in the grand dialogue proposed by Sharif over his disqualification by the top court.

“Those who want to file references against should continue to do so. We’ll counter all challenges,” he added, hinting at the NAB proceedings being initiated against Sharif and his family.
