Dhasmana is a 1981-batch Madhya Pradesh cadre IPS officer. He has been with RAW since 1993 and is known for his expertise on Balochistan and counter terrorism, according to PTI. RAW take care after the external intelligence of the country. Jain, on the other hand, is 1980-batch Jharkhand cadre IPS officer. He has earlier held positions in the IB’s Kashmir desk. Jain was the advisor to KC Pant, the previous National Democratic Alliance government’s interlocutor on Kashmir, reported The Indian Express.
Dhasmana and Jain will succeed Rajinder Khanna and Dineshwar Sharma, respectively, when the two retire on December 31. “Formal orders about their appointments are expected soon,” said a senior government official told Hindustan Times.
