The National Assembly resumed its session in Islamabad today(Friday) with Deputy Speaker Murtaza Javed Abbasi in the chair.

The House began discussion on a motion moved by Minister for Law and Justice Zahid Hamid regarding situation arising out of the Indian aggression on the Line of Control.

Initiating the debate, Naeema Kishwar Khan said India has started unannounced war on LoC which should be condemned by the whole world. She said durable peace in South Asia is impossible without resolution of Kashmir issue.

Shaikh Salahuddin stressed the need for revisiting the foreign policy in the wake of worsening situation on LoC due to Indian belligerence. He suggested that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should take up the matter with Indian Prime Minister to defuse the situation.

Ghaus Bakhsh Mahar said India failed to suppress the Kashmiri's struggle by force and resorted to unprovoked firing on Line of Control to divert attention. He said Pakistan should call UN Security Council meeting on ceasefire violations by India.

Sahibzada Tariqullah appreciated General Raheel Sharif's statement that India will be taught a lesson, if it resorted to any aggression against Pakistan. He said Parliament should be taken into confidence on the situation.

Qaisar Ahmad Shaikh lauded Prime Minister's move to send his Envoys to different countries to highlight atrocities and human rights violations by Indian forces in Occupied Kashmir. He suggested that Kashmir desks should be established in Pakistan Embassies abroad to highlight the Kashmir issue.

Shahida Rehmani strongly condemned unprovoked firing and shelling by Indian forces martyring Pakistani soldiers and civilians along LoC. She said India wants to impose war on Pakistan.

Tahira Aurangzeb said there should be no political point scoring on the issue. There should be only one message from the Parliament that India should immediately stop atrocities and barbarism in Occupied Kashmir.

Ghazi Gulab Jamal said that impression about India is increasing that it is an oppressor state. To suppress this impression, India resorted to unprovoked firing on LoC to divert attention of international community. He appreciated the government for handling the situation in good manner.

Mussarat Ahmadzeb said Kashmir is a jugular vein of Pakistan. She said the whole nation is united on Kashmir issue. She said protest should be lodged with the UN on ceasefire violations by India.

Riazul Haq said Prime Minister has forcefully highlighted Kashmir dispute at the UN. He saluted Kashmiris for continuing their freedom struggle sustaining the barbarity and atrocities of Indian forces. He said diplomatic efforts should be accelerated to expose India for its crimes against humanity.

Ayaz Soomro stressed for tit for tat response to Indian aggression on LoC. He strongly condemned Indian firing on civil bus and ambulance. He said Indian atrocities in Occupied Kashmir should be highlighted in every country.

Malik Ibrar Ahmad said international community should take notice of atrocities being committed by Indian forces in Occupied Kashmir. He said out armed forces are giving befitting response on LoC and causing huge losses to India.

Muhammad Kamal said hundreds of Kashmiris have been martyred in Occupied Kashmir during the last six months. He said solid strategy is needed to befittingly respond to Indian aggression.

Dr Shazra Mansab Ali said India resorted to escalation on LoC to hide its barbarism in Occupied Kashmir. She said as Prime Minister's Envoy on Kashmir to US we handed over dossiers on human rights violations in Occupied Kashmir by Indian forces.

Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz has categorically stated that Pakistan will give a befitting response to any Indian aggression.

Winding up debate on LoC situation in the National Assembly today, he said we are fully capable to defend our border. He said we will not accept any Indian influence or hegemony under any circumstances.

Sartaj Aziz said India is heating up the situation on the Line of Control to deflect attention from its atrocities in Occupied Kashmir. He said the India attack on passenger bus and ambulance was the most regrettable incident contrary to all norms and principles. He said Pakistan has written letters to the Foreign Ministers of P-5 countries to apprise them about the Indian aggression on the civilians. He said Pakistan has never targeted civilians but the Indian sides is deliberately targeting them to escalate the situation.

On the diplomatic front, the Advisor said Pakistan is forcefully raising the Kashmir dispute at all international forums. He said Pakistan will continue to support the Kashmiris right to self-determination which is totally indigenous in nature and led by the Kashmiri youth.

Sartaj Aziz, however, said that Pakistan will continue to pursue the policy of peaceful neighborhood. We are ready for dialogue with India on the condition that Kashmir dispute is also included in it.

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif in his remarks, said that Pakistan's armed forces are fully prepared to defend every inch of the motherland. We are fully capable to defend our waters, land and air frontiers.

Referring to the ongoing Intifada in Occupied Kashmir, the Defence Minister said that hundreds of the people have embraced martyrdom and lost their eye sight while braving Indian atrocities. He said that India cannot afford the success of Kashmir freedom movement as it will be the end of India. He said several separatist movements are continuing in India. If the Kashmir movement reaches its logical conclusion the other movements there will also achieve success. This will be the undoing of Indian state.

Khawaja Asif said that India is supporting terrorism in Pakistan for the last many years but our armed forces over the last two years have broken the back of their terrorists. He said we have unambiguous evidence about Indian interference in our territory and dossiers in this regard have been presented before the world community.

About CPEC, the Defence Minister said this mega project will be implemented at all costs which will enhance the country's stature not only in the region but the whole world. This game changer project, he said, will free Pakistan, of economic enslavement. He said many other countries of the region including Iran have also expressed interest to join this project.

The House will now meet on Monday at 05:30 p.m.
